Our Three Areas of Focus
Biblical Training
Every morning at the Emmaus Learning Pod, students spend the first hour of their school day in the Word. At Emmaus, we have two main goals for our students: to experience Jesus and be equipped for Jesus. Through our Biblical training, students will experience Jesus, growing in their knowledge and understanding of His character, promises for us and how to follow Him. Students will develop Biblical literacy and a Christian worldview, designed to equip them for a life-long journey with Jesus.
We encourage students to ask Lord, what do you want to show me today?
“Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” - Luke 24:32
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” - John 6:68
Academics
We value curiosity and a desire to learn, inspiring students to grow in knowledge and wisdom.
Following Biblical training, students spend time working on academic studies. Academics are completed online, working towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Parents determine the academic curriculum that their students will complete and Emmaus staff are available to support students through their learning.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" - Colossians 3:23
Servant Leadership
In the Emmaus Learning Pod, we want our students to see needs around them and develop leadership skills as they meet these needs. With the skills, abilities, and interests of our students' in mind, we want to go out and serve our community.
Service projects and opportunities are led by students with support from Emmaus staff. Students will foster communication, organization, and collaboration setting them up for success.
Some examples include:
- Hosting Chapel services
- Making meals
- Supporting at camps
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord."
- 1 Peter 4:10 - 11
